Why we can sore from working out at the GYM. |
Why we get sore
when working out at the Gym
The cause of soreness is the acid in the muscles causing the "burn" not getting out and then we wake up sore. The acid actually comes from cellular respiration...in other words, the cells are making energy from oxygen and glucose with carbon as a by product which we are supposed to be breathing out. Once the cell has maxed out it's ability to produce energy from glucose due to a lack of proper breathing (covered in depth in the exercise and physical fitness seminar that I do) and poor circulation caused by toxicity in the body the cell then starts using lactose instead of glucose to produce the energy with lactic acid as a by product....ouch. (I was a martial arts instructor for 4 years under one of the top Tae Kwon Do masters in the world)
Stretch to remove the acid
Instead of numbing the inflammation caused by the acid with drugs you can remove it....by stretching. Also, you can alkalize your body with lots of minerals, clean your body and increase circulation by intentional cleansing, and learn to breathe properly. I didn't stretch after last night’s class and I'm not sore today at all today.....I haven't worked out for four years.
A story about stretching...
During the instructor training program that I went through to become a martial arts instructor we experienced the most difficult conditioning I'd ever imagined. Playing high school football was like playing video games compared to this training. After the second training class I was so sore that I literally couldn't move. I was already able to handle three one-hour martial arts classes in a row without soreness, but this training was so hard that my muscles, especially in my claves, tightened up so much that all I could do was lay on the couch and yell at people who bumped it causing me great pain! My housemate Richard who was also in the program was just as sore as I was and just suffering. I said to him, "Remember when I promised that I would show you how to really stretch properly?" He said, "yes..." and I said, "now is the best time to really learn how powerful it is to stretch the right way, a way that is fun and meditative, not forceful like is commonly found, except in good Yoga schools."
We proceeded to do very slow stretching with deep breaths into the muscle, visualizing the muscle expanding on the inhale and releasing all tension on the exhale. We moved in and out of stretches on the exhale and really took our time, not forcing at all, but relaxing into the stretch. It took us two hours to do my 20-min total body stretching routine that stretches every muscle in the body. At the end of this very meditative session I felt like I was on clouds, my body was in ecstasy! We proceeded to go down to the park and play basketball!
Stretching is Vital
Stretching is often ignored, but is the most important part of physical exercise. An old tree grows stiff and when the wind blows, it breaks. A young tree, which is flexible, can bend when the wind blows. Kids are flexible, and most elderly are stiff. Stretching is youthening. And because the mind resides in the body, increasing your physical flexibility increases your mental flexibility. Of the four kinds of exercises the body needs, stretching is the top priority. Stretching prevents injury. Stretching eliminates soreness. Stretching increases flexibility which allows for speed. From Physics we know that power is mass (how big something is) times acceleration (increasing speed). True power comes from speed. Want to hit home runs? Be fast. Stretching allows you to be fast, and to feel really good.
The Answer Simplified
Ibuprofen is not necessary, but if you need it, go for it, suffering is not necessary and pain is optional. Remember, the body only needs two things: essential nutrients and to remove toxins; and chemical drugs are very toxic. It's much better for your body to stretch for at least 20 min before and after a good workout. If you are sore, stretch some more, with deep breathing and drink lots of alkalizing drinks like fresh green juice, or eat some other highly alkalizing foods that you can read about in the mineral article. Also, keep in mind that if you keep working out after 2-4 weeks depending on how toxic your body is and how depleted of essential nutrients like good fats (usually related to age but not always) you will get over the soreness and get used to the work out. If you don’t get used to it you’ve got some major nutrient deficiencies and/or toxicity levels in your body.
